Our collective group of teachers are devoted to your child and their needs
Our History
Mrs. Joanne Holmes Hundley of Lake Butler, Florida, had a deep love for children and families. At the young age of 30, she recognized her entrepreneurial spirit. Trusting in God, she established Rainbow Daycare in 1985, a home-based daycare designed to meet the childcare needs of her beloved community. Mrs. Joanne transformed her home daycare into an inviting childcare center, eventually expanding to include 4 employees and accommodating 50 children. To know Mrs. Joanne was to love her. She never met a stranger and was a passionate, innovative, and hardworking individual. After facing two cancer diagnoses, Mrs. Joanne decided it was time to enjoy the rest of her life with her close friends and family. She understood the importance of leaving the community's childcare needs in capable hands and entrusted this mission to her family. In January of 2001 her daughter, Mrs. Kim Hundley Bailey, purchased the business from her mother and established Little Rainbow's Learning Center, continuing the legacy of care and service in their community.
Our Mission
At Little Rainbow's Learning Center, our mission is to provide a safe, secure, and high-quality education rooted in Christian values. We are dedicated to fostering the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development of our students through the Abeka Curriculum. Our goal is to create a learning environment where both students and staff can thrive.
Our Curriculum
Little Rainbow's Learning Center utilizes a Christian-based curriculum called Abeka, designed for children of all ages starting at 6 months of age. Each of our classes participates in the Abeka curriculum, allowing your child to build on these learning experiences as they progress through our facility. This age-appropriate curriculum provides hands-on learning experiences that will encourage your child to learn. In addition to academic learning, our program promotes social, emotional, and physical growth. A typical day in our VPK classrooms includes activities such as learning Bible verses, problem-solving, reading, writing, rhyming, singing, storytelling, and a strong focus on literacy.
